Content removal

Removing content from Trustpilot

Trustpilot has an active integrity team and a clear flagging process, which makes properly evidenced reports genuinely effective.

We will tell you honestly whether there is a real basis for removal before you pay for anything.

What Trustpilot will and will not remove

Being specific about this is how you avoid paying for an outcome nobody can deliver.

Genuine grounds
  • Reviews from non-customers
  • Fake and incentivised reviews
  • Harmful, defamatory, or abusive content
  • Reviews containing personal information
  • Content about a different business
Not removable
  • Honest customer feedback
  • Reviews you consider unfair but that are genuine

Trustpilot will also act against businesses that abuse the flagging process, so submissions have to be accurate. That is a reason to have this handled properly.

How we handle it

01

Assess the grounds

We establish whether the content actually breaches Trustpilot’s policy or the law, and tell you plainly if it does not.

02

Document and submit

We build the evidence file that gives a report the best chance of succeeding rather than being auto-declined, and escalate where a first response is wrong.

03

Suppress in parallel

Whatever the outcome, we work on what people find first, so you are not dependent on a removal decision you do not control.

What it costs

How removal pricing works
From$599per successful removal

You pay when the content comes down. If we cannot remove it, you do not pay for the removal. That is how we have priced this work since 2018, and it is why we tell you upfront when something is not removable.

What moves the price up or down

  • Which platform hosts it, and how its process works
  • Whether there is a clear policy breach or a legal route
  • How many items are involved
  • How well documented the case already is
  • Whether the content has been syndicated elsewhere
  • How urgent it is

Suppression and ongoing monitoring are scoped separately, because that is continuing work rather than a single outcome.

Common questions

Can you guarantee removal from Trustpilot?

No, and neither can anyone else. Platforms make the final decision. What we can do is establish whether there is a genuine basis, document it properly so it is not auto-declined, and pursue it through the right channel. Where there is no basis, we will tell you and focus on suppression instead.

How long does it take?

Typically days to several weeks per item, depending on the platform and how busy their review queue is. We report on every submission, including the ones that fail.

What if the content stays up?

You do not pay for a removal that does not happen. Removals are charged on success. Where content cannot come down we outrank it instead, and that suppression work is scoped and priced separately so you always know which you are buying.
